East Tennessee PBS Presents The Vietnam War: East Tennessee Story

As part of The Vietnam War: The East Tennessee Story, East Tennessee PBS has partnered with area production companies to produce an ongoing series of documentaries called The Vietnam War: East Tennessee. This local initiative, led by East Tennessee PBS, is bringing light to a dark time in our recent history and encouraging community involvement and discussion about community concerning the Vietnam War and its impact on American society and particularly  East Tennessee.

A  series of half-hour films chronicling the war experience of East Tennessee Vietnam veterans, war protesters, and their families from Vietnam. This initiative explores the experiences of those involved, how their views have evolved, and how the war affected East Tennesseans as a whole. Through these first-hand accounts, we experience the war through the eyes of those who lived it.

East Tennessee PBS has formed a coalition of agencies who will lend their expertise to the project, including media producers, academic institutions, community leaders, and veteran aid organizations. Panel discussions with these experts as well as veterans who were there will follow each screening.
