The East Tennessee PBS Be More Awards, presented by Home Federal Bank, are given monthly to leaders in our viewing area who contribute to the overall well-being of our community through education, the arts, health services or other forms of charitable giving or community involvement. The Be More Awards can be awarded to non-profit organizations, for-profit organizations or individuals that inspires us to Be More. Recipients of the Be More Awards are showcased during daily programming on East Tennessee PBS.

Jefferson Rural Clinic is a volunteer-operated non-profit providing low-cost medical, dental and health education services to uninsured indigent adults in the Appalachian counties of Jefferson and Grainger, Tennessee.
We envision a day when the integrity of the land, air and water of central and southern Appalachia is protected for future generations and the region is upheld as a national model of a vibrant, just and sustainable economy.

The Julia Barbara Foundation is fighting to cure DIPG (brain stem tumors) so that in the future DIPG children will not lose their smiles and families will no longer watch their children die a horrible death.
The mission of the East Knoxville Freedom School is to build strong, literate, empowered children prepared to make a difference in themselves, their families, our community, the nation and the world.
The Appalachian Community Fund (ACF) funds and encourages grassroots social change in Central Appalachia. ACF works to build a sustainable base of resources to support community-led organizations seeking to overcome and address issues of race, economic status, gender, sexual identity, and disability. As a community-controlled fund, ACF offers leadership to expand and strengthen the movement for social change through its practices and policies.
